"They're that awesome?" He asked with a smile, mainly to hide the spectacular embarrassment and joy that might have become apparent on his face. He loved his hands, hell it was almost like an I love you to him. His heart raced and it was getting more and more unbearable, for the feelings were overwhelming and it wouldn't be long until they would defeat his rationality.

"You sound just like mommy, stop that. Matthew was wrong and he was mean to me, hit me with that annoying bear plushie of his," he said in his childish rage.

He listened to Arthur's words in fascination, eyes wide and full of interest. He had lively interest in Arthur's story that was oh so very new to him, interest in his way of speaking...interest in his lips. "Not at all," he breathed out absentmindedly.

"I am sorry for offending you!". He laughed quietly, "I am sure your older brother was very mean, hitting you like that with his.. bear plushie was it?" He didn't mean to mock Alfred but that childish little outburst was just too adorable to do anything otherwise. Moments before, he had been admiring cute blushing cheeks from his compliment, the next minute kissable, pouty lips from an outburst. This girl was just too cute

The sun had gone further down, and Arthur was beginning to wonder if they should carry on or head back. He wasn't sure. "Do you think we should wonder off further or head back to the town centre maybe? I will leave the choice to you my dear lady!" Lifting the hand he was still holding, he lightly kissed it again.

"They are that 'awesome' by the way!" He added with a grin. Though part of him was questioning his actions at this point.

Arthur's charme would kill him one day, he was sure of it. Alfred had no idea why he was so receptive towards all these little actions in the first place. He thought back and realised, classical gentlemen were never in his close circle of friends. So why Arthur, he asked himself. The moment Arthur kissed the back of his hand again, the sun was almost completely gone from the horizon.

Alfred watched the changing shadow play on Arthur's face, caused by the quickly setting sun. The last golden rays shone upon his king's serene expression, brilliant emeralds were looking at him. He held his breath. Perhaps it wasn't simply Arthur's galant way, but also the temperament behind it. And that sassy smile he always wore when he was in the middle of teasing Alfred.

    Oh God.

Suddenly Alfred was thoughtlessly putting his arms around Arthur's neck and pulled the older close to him, at the same time he had already straddled the other's lap with a flourish. Ignoring Arthur's obviously surprised stare, he promptly stole a kiss. Kissing Arthur was like releasing all the tension and denial.

    Kissing Arthur was mind-blowing.

The first move had been innocent enough , feeling the arms wrap around his neck. Then the surprise on his face must have been evident when the other straddled his lap as he gasped a little, and the feeling of those kissable lips against his own. He sat in shock for while, where on earth did this come from? All questions faded from his mind as he wrapped his arms around Alfred’s waist (well rather feminine waist anyway) to, if at all possible, to pull the other closer. Tilting his head upwards, he responded with equal enthusiasm, pressing back and moving his lips against the soft, soft lips of his lovely companion . It was quite heavenly.

Pulling back after a minute, Arthur simply stared at Alfred. He wanted to ask why, but no words could or would come out. He simply stared and admired.

Alfred fought back tears when he realised that Arthur was kissing him back, it was tender and sweet. In his life there had never been a kiss so affecting; it was close to driving him insane - and he wouldn't even care if it did. He sighed into the kiss.

Arthur eventually broke the kiss and Alfred made a noise that sounded similar to a whining, the lack of another pair of lips saddened him. He looked upon Arthur through half-lidded eyes and bit on his bottom lip. He was perfectly aware of what he had done. But it was okay, because it was a mutual kiss...right?

Alfred carefully caressed Arthur's lips, they were still moist from the kiss. "I...," what was there to say?

Arthur simply smiled and shook his head. He took hold of the hand that had just caressed his lips and intertwined their fingers. Leaning forward, he placed another chaste kiss on those lips, it was his way of saying it was alright. Both of them seemed too speechless to talk right now.

Thinking about it now, he had absolutely no idea where that came from. Did ... normal Alfred have these kinds of feelings for him? Of course not, he would laugh out loud at the stupidity of the suggestion, if not for being in Alfred's company. The idea of it was preposterous though. Normal Alfred could have any girl that he wanted. He didn't feel so good all of a sudden.

Catching Alfred's attention again by squeezing the other's hand, he asked quietly "Are you alright? Can you talk now?"

Alfred smiled at the light kiss. "Yes," he answered cheerfully, though his voice was still unsteady. "Sorry for surprising you."
He offered Arthur a cheeky grin, leaned forward until his lips nearly met the king's right ear; he lightly chuckled before he spoke in a whisper. "But you also enjoyed it, didn't you?"

Alfred drew back with a saucy wink and stood up to finally free the other from his clutches. He thought that he would love to taste Arthur's lips again when he was back to normal, along with it he wondered whether they were officially a couple now, yet he didn't voice his thoughts. He simply smiled again, now with a bit of uncertainty.

"Come on, man. Let's go back, I'm tired for the day."

Arthur stood up from the bench, chuckling as he did. "No need to apologize. It was certainly was a surprise, but a pleasant one indeed". He stretched a little after he stood up. Alfred was definately right, it was all enough for one day. The pleasant walk and even more surprising kiss had only made him forget for a while, about everything that had to be done.

"I agree. Today has ... been full of too many surprises! I guess we should expect them more then ever now, with this threat of war looming!" he gave Alfred an apologetic smile, even with so much going on, this distraction had been worth it. It made him much happier, and ready to face the issues, starting with his current female companion. They were now walking back to their inn, it seemed him voicing his worries had bought on another bout of silence.

"Sorry about the dramatics. I didn't mean to ruin a lovely mood"
