    Week 1: Roderich/Natalya Empty Week 1: Roderich/Natalya

Post  Guest Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:11 pm

Sitting in the back of the luxurious car he'd hired for the evening, Roderich adjusted his cufflinks, checked his hair and mentally ran through just how much he'd spent already- and he hadn't even picked her up yet. The night's total would be painful to contemplate, but on the other hand, it would (or should) be quite the event. At the very least, he hoped Natalya would be entertained.

The car pulled to a stop, and his driver opened his door; with a courteous thank you, Roderich gave his (extremely elegant, if very formal) attire another once-over, before retrieving an extravagant bouquet of white flowers from the car. He walked calmly up to Natalya's door, and knocked, three times.

Natalya let out a small sigh. She could feel her nerves causing her body to pulsate simultaneously with her heart breat. She nervously glanced at the clock once more. Time was almost gone. She did a once-over in the vanity mirror along the wall. Long, ice-blonde hair cascaded carefully along her shoulders, curled to almost perfection in certain sections to give it a different look. A small, black silk bow was clipped to the side of her hair for a cute accessorie. Make-up decorated her pale skin, adding to what some could consider her natural beauty. Small, chandelier-style earrings slightly hid beneath her icy locks, glinting beautifully enough to match the excited sparkle in her eyes when caught in the light. Her neck was left bare and exposed, porcelain skin seeming to illuminate everywhere. Natalya's eyes now glanced over her outfit. Its color was a soft, grey blue with black silk trim along the skirt of the dress. It was an off-the shoulder mermaid-style dress that hugged her cuves very well, accenting where it should. It suited her and she did, in fact, feel gorgeous in it. 'I wouldn't have picked out something so nice without help..' Natalya thought with a small fondness towards her eldest sibling. Dark blue eyes scanned over the clock again and she felt her heart jump a little when there were three soft, but confident, knocks. She snatched the black clutch from the table and walked to the door, calming her breathing and self inside her mind. Natalya's heels clicked lightly along the floor in the simply, black, strappy stilettos that adorned her pale feet. Unlocking the door her eyes widened to a lovely bouquet of white flowers. "Oh my! These are quite beautiful, Roderich.." Her cheeks turned a soft shade of pink, adding to the fake blush she wore from the make-up. She had not expected flowers. Nor had she expected Roderich to ask her out on a date. Yes, they knew a little of each other, but his invitation to accompany him to a ballet had been quite a surprise. Natalya cradled the flowers for a moment before slipping back inside to set them in a vase with fresh water. "Thank you very much.." She said with a small smile floating onto her pale lips as she stepped out of the door, locking it behind her.

Roderich gave the young woman a small smile, and bowed to her; deciding he may as well do the thing properly, he took her hand and briefly brushed his lips against it. Straightening, he took in her appearance; she looked quite amazing, strikingly pale against her dress. He offered her his arm.

'You look lovely, Natalya,' he said, voice soft and polite. 'We'll be seeing Scheherazade; I wonder if you know it, it's Russian. It's an interesting suite, I thought you might like it.' He had indeed chosen it with her in mind. This entire date doubtlessly appeared odd to anyone who knew the two, and probably to Natalya herself, but Roderich had a simple reason. Curiosity. He'd had nothing in particular to do that night, and anyone he might have spent it with was busy or out of town. He knew Natalya- certainly, he'd seen (from a safe distance) certain aspects of her personality. But there was something quite intriguing about her; she was distant, and yet she seemed to take a peculiar interest in small things. Roderich had thought taking her out might get her to open up a little. And the benefit to himself, outside of satisfying his curiosity, would be company for the evening. Besides, he relished the opportunity to explain an opera or ballet to someone new. Unless Ivan unexpectedly turned up, or Russia was somehow insulted in front of her, Roderich thought it would go smoothly.

He gestured to the car, where his driver was patiently holding the door open for them. 'If you're ready, shall we?'

Natalya's skin prickled with excitement as his warm lips brushed against her icy skin. His gentle smile caused her to do a self-conscious once over. She prayed that she looked at beautiful as Kat had promised her she would. She slipped her arm delicately into his, latching onto him as they walked towards the car that was waiting in the street. "R-really?" She asked, her first response to the compliment was shock. She blushed brightly, feeling embarrassed a bit by herself. "Vhy, thank you, Roderich. You look very handsome." She added, glancing him over with a cute smile. Roderich did look very nice, but then again, he always seemed to.

Natalya's dark blue eyes sparkled with curiosity as he mentioned their plans for the evening. "Ah, nyet! But I cannot vait.." She smiled again. Yes, she was very excited. But she was mostly curious. Why her? She did not know too much about Roderich, but she had never figured herself to be a girl he would ask anywhere. Many of the others were.. put off by some of her behaviours. So, again, why her? Roderich certainly seemed to have more suitable companions. There was Erzsébet, Gilbert, perhaps even Vash or Lilli. But no, it had never occured to her that he would ever consider asking her to go anywhere, least of all a ballet.

Her mind snapped back into focus when Roderich asked her a question. "Da!" She chimed, slipping herself into the car with a small smile to the patient driver. She didn't know what the night would hold, but she could not deny her excitement at being asked to be someone's companion.
