It was her birthday. Alfred chewed on his lower lip, deep in concentration and in desperate search for an idea to make Erzsebet happy. It needed to be something special, nothing too ordinary, nothing too safe and sweet as any other girl would prefer. Though it was given that such ambitions were linked to more or less frustrating difficulties. Starting from the lack of idea, which was definitely in no way connected to any poor creative ability.
In the end he had decided to ask her directly. It was perhaps better that way.
The reason why he was so eager to please that girl was in fact, and it wasn't too difficult to figure out, the adoring love he felt towards her. They had started as buddies, because really, Erzsebet was the best friend ever. Without fear, daring, funny, yet still feminine - that was Erzsebet. And...they were still buddies. Alfred had been aware of his feelings towards her since months ago, and he was sure that he was treating the girl differently now. He made several flirting attempts, but she remained oblivious.
Erzsebet's passion was homosexuality. How the heck was such a hobby even existing? Not that he had anything against his gay fellas out there, it was just quite unusual. She was always euphoric when she had spotted a gay couple, and sometimes Alfred had the impression that he only had a chance if he were gay.
"Stupid adorable girl," he murmured; more fondly than annoyed.
He rang the door bell of her house, placing a wide grin on his face. Should he sing Happy Birthday? No, better not embarrass himself in such early hour.
