Week 11: Hendrik/Ivan

Hendrik was heading down to meet up with Ivan at the movie theatre, he took a drag of his cigarette as he passed various stores on his way to the theatre. It wasn't often that Ivan and him had a chance to get together and just hang out. Taking another drag from his cigarette he realized he was in front of the movie theatre, dropping the cigarette on the ground and stepping on it he looked around the crowed for his tall Russian friend.

Ivan checked his watch and look around for his fellow scarf wearing nation.He had been standing around aimlessly for about ten minutes before spotting Hendrik a good distance away. He pushed his way through the milling crowd of people stopping when he reached his friends side. "It is good to see you Hendrik. It has been to long."

Hendrik looked up when he heard the russian voice at his side " het has been aan long mijn vriend " he held his hand out to shake his friend's hand. It had been a long time since he had last seen the russian since he often didn't go to the world meetings preferring to laze about outside of the conference buildings smoking his pipe and soaking up the sun a habit he had picked up after the second world war. " so wat had u been up aan lately? "

He shook Hendriks hand before answering. "Me? I have not been up to much of anything. It's been rather uneventful in my part of the vorld. You?" He had not seen Hendrik at any of the world meetings lately but that was normal. Many nations went to the actual meeting about once a year. Oh how he envied them...

" mijn part of the world is rather quiet as well " he replied as he shook the Russian's hand. He wondered if he should start going to more meetings but thought better of it when he remembered how the meetings usually ended up like.

He looked up at the slightly taller nation "so how are die going any way? " he was slightly curious to know if anything had changed when he didn't attend.

"Hmm...Feli has finally realized that he can stuff pasta inside of stuffed pasta. Alfred's ideas haven't changed from the 50's." He stopped for a moment to think. "Kirklands eyebrows seem even more like caterpillars and Yao is...sort. Nothing more has changed."

He shook his head " all the same den " he chuckled as he reached up and scratched at his scar, he didn't like that he couldn't smoke while he was at the meetings. He gave his head a shake now wasn't the time to be thinking about meetings he was here to hang out Ivan " enough about dat mijn vriend " he nodded to the movie theatre " u wil go in or u wil go and get a coffee?"

Why did he always have to make the difficult dicisions?... "Umm...I think ve should see the movie, then coffee." It would give them something to talk about. He feared that he was not a very verbose person when it came to "normal" conversation. His speeches however, they could last for hours.

He could agree with that, he turned away from Ivan to study the movie listings mostly all romance movies were playing but there was one horror and a comedy playing " daar is romance, horror and a comedy aan choose from " he didn't care much to what he saw as long as it was enjoyable.

"I refuse to pick this one. You do it." He smiled and scanned the list. "Just no Horror, my sister has dragged me to enough of those to last a life time..."

Hendrik chuckled " romance het is dan " he decided that the comedy didn't look too good but one of the romance one's did, he went up to the ticket counter and bought two tickets to the show.

He turned around and handed a ticket to Ivan " here mijn vriend and niet worry about het " he knew the Russian might complain about him buying both tickets but he honestly didn't mind.

Ivan frowned. Hendrick did not need to waste his money on him. "I am buying the coffee and I vill not take no foe an answer." He was secretly gland Hen chose the romance over the comedy though he was sure they would earn a few odd looks. Not many males went for the chick flicks without the persuasion of the fairer sex. He held the door open for him companion then followed him inside.

Hendrik nodded he knew that the Russian would get angry if he didn't let him get the coffee " alright mijn vriend " as he walked past the other man and into the theater he noticed they we're being looked at strangely. He didn't understand why since this was normal in his nation so he just shruged off the stares and headed to the refreshments stand " wat do u want? " he said as he turned to look at Ivan.

Ivan looked over the menu with mild interest and only saw one thing he wanted. Funnel cake. But he must resist temptation! Next thing you know he'll have a craving for fried snickers or something equally as unhealthy and his life would be ruined. Besides, powdered sugar gets everywhere. "Nothing. Thank you for the offer...and the ticket" He didn't want to sound ungrateful.

Hendrik chuckled " alright dan " he ordered himself some popcorn, he paid the person for the popcorn and turned back to Ivan " u totally sure u niet want any niets? " he shruged " well if u want u can have some of mijn popcorn.

He walked towards the theater enterance to go look for a seat.

Ivan followed him into the theater looking around at the couple and female infested seats. This was going to be a fun movie. He could tell already. "No no, I am fine~." He followed Hen into a mostly empty row and sat down in the middle. He crossed his legs somehow and got comfortable in the cramped space. It sucked to be tall sometimes.

He had caught sight of all the females and couple in the theater "alright " he followed Ivan to some seats and sat down beside the russian. He tossed some popcorn into his mouth as he got comfortable in his seat.

He looked at Ivan who looked rather cramped in his seat " u comfortable mijn vriend? "

"Perfectly." He wasn't of course. Not yet anyway. But once he was sure no one was sitting in front of them he could stretch out. If only these add would be done with so the previews would start...

He nodded as the theater started to darken as the movie started, he placed the popcorn bag in his lap and poped a few more kernals into his mouth as the previews started.

Ivan dropped his head back and stared at the ceiling, waiting for the previews to end. The last preview faded out and the opening credits started rolling. Finally sure that no one else was coming in he propped his legs up on the seat in front of him and sighed. Comfort at last.

He smiled softly as he watched the Russian as he got comfortable, chuckling quietly he turned his attention to the screen as the opening credits started.

He sunk down in his chair and crossed his legs as he got comfortable.

Ivan watched the drama unfold on screen with unwavering attention. His prediction was right. This was a good movie. For a chick flick that is. He was enthralled with the incredibly predictable plot twists and almost moved to tears with the over done angst. The funny bits might have caused a giggle or two, who knows.

Hendrik had to admit the move was really good for being a romance, his attention was focused on the screen.

He chuckled as some funny parts of the movie and wasn\t ashamed when he had tears run down his face at the most angsty part of the movie.

Ivan stretched and yawned as the credits rolled and the theater lit up. He stood and popped his a tiny moan of pleasure escaping his lips.

"Well~ That vas better than expected~"

Hendrik nodded as he stood up " ja het was very goed much better den I expected as well " he looked at Ivan " shall wij go and get some coffee? " he moved out into the aisle making sure he avoided getting bumped into by exiting people.
