“You do?” Matthew smiled warmly as he got onto the elevator. It must have been coincidental, or course, that Hendrik had offered the answer to one of his concerns just as he had thought of it. He laughed, entertaining the though of how embarrassing it would have been a few moments prior if Hendrik really could read minds.

It didn’t take long for the elevator to get to the correct floor and when it did, Matthew had to stop himself from going off in one direction. He didn’t know where he was going, after all, but after years of using hotels for world meetings, he was used to knowing, and some habits were just harder to break than others.

“Which number is it, Hendrik?” he asked, noticing the two halls that branched off from the spot.

" ja " he smiled down at the Canadian at his side as the elevator went up to his floor. He chuckled to himself as he watched Matthew hold himself from going in one direction when they exited the elevator. Smiling he turned to his right and started to walk down the hallway " ah het is the room at the end of the hallway room 712 "

As they approached his door his pulled out his room key out of his front pant pocket, letting go of the other nation's hand he grabbed the door handle and slid the key into the slot. He opened the door and stood to the side for the other man to enter the room first then walked into the room after him " welkom " he chuckled as he took his shoes off and moved into the living space removing his scarf and coat as he moved.

Matthew thanked Hendrik as the older nation held the door open for him and walked inside the room first, automatically removing his shoes near the doorway before moving into the living space. He took a quick look around; as far as hotel rooms went, this was quite nice.

As much as he’d like to just laze in the comfortable-looking chair he spotted in one of the corners of the room, he was also getting a little hungry. Not wanting to keep himself or Hendrik waiting, Matthew went to the kitchenette attached to the hotel room, ignoring his concern of seeming nosy for a while.

He laughed slightly and looked back at Hendrik. “You really weren’t kidding when you said you bought enough food.”

(aaaugh, I don’t even— Feel free to kick me. xD)

He followed the Canadian into the kitchen after placing his coat and scarf on the arm rest of the sofa chair. He crossed his arms as he leaned on the door frame as he chuckled at Matthew as the other looked back at him " ja "

He pushed himself off the door frame as he walked across the kitchen to stand behind the younger nation.

The only downside to the other man's preparedness was that Matthew had no idea where to start. He hummed thoughtfully, looking around for a little while longer before finally deciding to just ask Hendrik.

"Is there anything that you're in the mood for?" After all, the older nation probably knew better than he did as to what he could make from what he had. He was by no means a master chef, but he’d be willing to try his hands at plenty of things, especially if it was for someone he loved and loved to cook for. Though it would turn out much better if it was something he was used to making, or at least had made previously.

But really, he’d be happy to make whatever Hendrik wanted.

He tapped his chin as he looked like he was thinking on what he wanted " ...pancakes... " he knew that the Canadian made the best pancakes and he loved eating the other nations pancakes whenever he was over, plus they were quick and easy to make and the northern nation didn't have to spend all afternoon cooking for him.

He smiled at the Canadian " I can help if u like " he decided he would offer to help the northern nation if he needed it.

“Pancakes, did you say?” Matthew’s grin broadened, “Sure thing!”

He really shouldn’t have been surprised by Hendrik’s request; he had made pancakes for the older nation on numerous occasions, probably more times than he had made anything else for him. Not that he minded, in fact, he was glad that that’s what Hendrik chose.

“Hm, I think I’m fine,” he said, giving Hendrik a half-hug before walking over to the refrigerator to retrieve ingredients. He then paused and looked over his shoulder with a small smile. “Though if you really want to, I wouldn’t turn down the offer.”

He smiled as Matthew gave him a half hug then watched him go over to the fridge to grab the ingredients he needed. He grinned as he moved over to get out the cooking pan and spatula for the Canadian. He turned on the stove for the other man before moving out of Matthew's way so he could cook.

He moved to the other counter to grab some plates and forks and set them on the small table, then grabbed some glasses and set them down as well. Hendrik sat down and watched Matthew move around the kitchen cooking.

When he found the cooking pan at the right temperature just when he needed it, he smiled softly to himself. In fact, everything much easier with everything laid out for him, thanks to Hendrik. “I think I might just need to borrow you every time I cook from now on,” he joked, though on second thought, it would really be nice to see Hendrik that often.

He absentmindedly hummed a tune as he cooked and flipped pancake after pancake, placing each finished one on a plate he had found. When he figured he made enough, he turned around to ask, “Do you think you could find two more plates? Oh, you did that, too?” He chuckled lightly before serving them both.

They looked good, but they were still missing one prime ingredient. “Hendrik, do you happen to have the ‘most important thing’?” Matthew asked, knowing that Hendrik would know what he meant.

Hendrik laughed " het would be mijn pleasure aan lend zelf aan u anytime weinig konijn " he smiled at the Canadian as he watched the other nation mix the ingredients and start cooking. He loved the smell of Matthew's cooking and was quite content to just sitting in a chair and listening to the Canadian hum a tune.

He chuckled when Matthew realized he had everything all set out and ready to use " now weinig konijn u know I could never forget dat " he stood up and mover to one of the cabinets and pulled out a bottle of real maple syrup and brought it to the table.
